Terms and Conditions

By booking onto a Workshop, Class, Course, One-to-One or Corporate Booking at House of Kaolin, you automatically agree to our Terms and Conditions below.

Non-Attendance

Please ensure you can attend every session before booking. In the event of arriving late to classes or non-attendance, it is not possible to provide alternative studio time or for additional classes to make up for lost time.

Refunds

Refunds are available if your course is due to start in 29 days or more. We are unable to provide refunds for courses starting in 21 day or less, however we may be able to offer exchanges or transfers to other courses at our discretion. For workshops starting in 7 days or less, transfers are unavailable. If you are unable to attend, please consider offering your space to a friend or family member to make use of. For exceptional circumstances or emergencies please contact us as soon as possible and we can work together to come to an arrangement as we understand life can be unforeseeable.

Minimum Numbers

For workshops, classes and courses to run we need a minimum number of six students booked onto a course. If we are unable to meet this minimum number, workshops, classes and courses may be cancelled 24hrs before they are due to start. When possible, we will offer students already booked to transfer to another available workshop, class or course otherwise a refund will be processed.

Payment

All prices on our website include VAT and booking fees.

Materials Costs

Our Taster Workshops and Courses, One-to-One sessions and Corporate Team-Building Events are inclusive of materials costs. Limits to work made may apply.

Our 12 week courses have additional fees to cover costs of materials, as we do not limit how much you are able to make, therefore the costs of clay, glazes and other materials and firings are in addition through our Weigh & Pay process. Once glaze fired, work is weighed, costs worked out and you pay for it by card before taking it home. This is charged at £2.50 per 500g of fired work (e.g, approximately £1 for a cup).

Studio Access

Studios are not accessible to students outside of course times. You may arrive 5 minutes before the start of your course, giving teachers preparation time to set-up the session. Please allow sufficient time (usually 15 minutes) to clean up before the end of your session so the studio is clean and tidy for the next group. Please arrive for your class promptly. Due to set-up times, teachers will be unable to redo demonstrations. If arriving early you may wait in the café seating area until 5 minutes to session start times.

Collecting Work

You will receive an email informing you when your work is ready for collection (generally 3-4 weeks after the course). From the date of this email, you will have 21 days to collect your work. If you’re unable to collect within this timeframe, we ask you to please find alternative arrangements or ask a friend to collect for you. We may be able to extend this collection time at our discretion on an individual basis. During our 12 week courses, we encourage you to collect work as soon as it is fired to help make room for more work. We are not responsible for any work damaged during storage or firing – firing ceramics can be unpredictable despite our best efforts of maintaining control over every process. Due to storage restrictions, we are unable to store work for more than 21 days after your last class and we will dispose of it to make room for new work.
