Discover the art of ceramics with our 5 Week Ceramics Taster course at House of Kaolin. Our expert teacher will guide you through the pottery process of making ceramic works, starting with an introduction to ceramics and techniques such as pinching, coiling, slab building, throwing on the wheel, turning, and glazing. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, you’ll gain valuable skills and knowledge in hand-building and throwing. Don’t miss this chance to create your own unique ceramics.
You can expect to make between 4-8 pieces on this course, which you will glaze in your final session. You will be notified by email when these will be ready to collect a few weeks after your last session.
Sessions are 2.5 hours long which includes 15 minutes of communal cleaning before the end of the session. Please aim to arrive promptly for start of session so not to miss the demonstration, which cannot always be repeated.

- Saturdays 10:30am-1pm / 11th January - 8th February 2025 [classes take place 11th, 18th, 25th Jan, 1st, 8th Feb]
- Tuesdays 6:30-9pm / 14th January - 11th February 2025 [classes take place 14th, 21st, 28th Jan, 4th, 11th Feb]
- Saturdays 10:30am-1pm / 22nd February - 22nd March 2025 [classes take place 22nd Feb, 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd Mar]
- Tuesdays 6:30-9pm / 25th February - 25th March 2025 [classes take place 25th Feb, 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th Mar]
5 Week Ceramics Taster Course
Non-Attendance
Please ensure you can attend every session before booking. In the event of arriving late to classes or non-attendance, it is not possible to provide alternative studio time or for additional classes to make up for lost time.
Refunds
Refunds are available if your course is due to start in 22 days or more. We are unable to provide refunds for courses starting in 21 day or less, however we may be able to offer exchanges or transfers to other courses at our discretion. For courses starting in 7 days or less, transfers are unavailable. If you are unable to attend, please consider offering your space to a friend or family member to make use of. For exceptional circumstances or emergencies please contact us as soon as possible and we can work together to come to an arrangement as we understand life can be unforeseeable.
